Bingata came from South Asia back from 14th century, the Okinawans borrowed the technique and created their own nature-inspired designs found throughout the island. Bingata tenugui is a new challenging between Bingata artist and traditional chusen dying method, made beautiful collaboration of two traditional technique, and then create new style of Tenugui in 21st century!
SHO-CHIKU-BAI is good luck three symbols in Japan. SHO means pine tree, CHIKU means Bamboo tree, and BAI means plum tree. This bingata tenugui uses dark indigo as a base color, colorful SHO-CHIKU-BAI are blooming on the tenugui. Bringing you a Happy New Year all year around.
