Tenugui on the street

HOW IS MY TENUGUI MADE ?
Wuhao newyork Tenugui is 100% cotton, and was individually hand made in Japan by traditionally trained craftsmen. Therefore, each Tenugui is unique and will vary slightly in both size and color from any other Tenugui. Tenugui was dyed using a special method, and the colors will fade after washing. Since each Tenugui is cut individually by hand and is not hemmed, you will find that the ends of each side may be wavy. Because they are no folding hems, Tenugui dry equally from top to bottom, based on Japanese traditional technique. As you continue to wash and use your tenugui, it will settle into its permanent shape and you will truly enjoy this traditional craftsman item. And also you will see the quality of color and touch improved, like your own vintage Tenugui.

HOW TO WASH MY TENUGUI ?

For best results, please wash by hand in cold water with a washing product that does not contain bleach or a bleaching agent, and wash separate from other garments or fabric. Do not tumble dry; but simply hang to dry in the shade. Tenugui dries faster than other kind of towels because of their unique processing. If you need to, a warm iron can be used.

We hope you enjoy your one-of-kind Tenugui as a part of your daily life.
