Tenugui mumbling Vol.103 – Jereme Sander’s Story

Sunday, December 18th, 2011

?

Jereme is a Parkour practitioner, a member of the Tribe (Professional Parkour Team) and American Parkour, and also he is a Tenugui fan. You can find him at Tenugui on the street Vol.35 at our site.

Parkour originally came from France, and was used for Military education and training during World War I and II.? The main purpose of the discipline is to teach participants how to move through their environment by vaulting, rolling, running, climbing and jumping…. just like a Ninja!

This video is a story about Jereme Sanders; becoming and working to be a Parkour Traceur is not easy, but his passion and love of Parkour has touched my heart deeply.

It’s a great thing to have what you love most, and living your life doing what you love.
Life has many different forms, and I believe that your love and passion, and thoughts, create your destiny.

Wishing Happy Holidays,?Jereme and ?all Tenugui Fans!

Tenugui mumbling Vol.85 – Hinamatsuri (Doll’s Festival) “a Hint of Spring”

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

?

My Hina-Ningyo.. 45-years old!

March 3rd is Hina-matsuri (Doll’s festival) in Japan. This is the day to celebrate young girls growing up and being happy. There is also Tango-no-sekku, or Kodomo-no-hi (Children’s day) in May to celebrate boys.

The photo of Hina-ningyo (Dolls) was made by my Aunt Yachiyo when I was born. They have been traveling many cities and many countries with me. I guess they would be eligible for tons of mileage.
Originally from Osaka Japan,? we moved to Yokohama first… and then to?Beijing, Dalian, and Shanghai, China… and then on the boat to Texas… and on the road to New York. Hope they like New York as much as I do now!

Life is very interesting, you never know what will come to you next. Sometimes people are afraid to change,?their location, school, work, partner, and life in general. Whatever it is, open your heart, open your eyes, and listen to your inner whispering… it will bring new possibilities to your life.

Kimono de Jazz at the Kitano

Kimono de Jazz at the Kitano

?We had an event “Kimono de Jazz” at the Kitano?last month. I used my yellow komon Tenugui as a kimono collar, and combined it with the cherry petal Kimono that came from my mother. She said that she wore it for her college ceremony… over fifty years ago!!!! The elegance of Japan has carried over to the next generation… and with our own style!
I love both tradition and change! How about you, Tenugui fans?

Sending you a hint of Spring along with Hina-ningyo and Three Kimono beauties!!!

Sunday, January 2nd, 2011

Jereme is one of a first practitioners of Parkour in the Texas area, having started in 2004. His experience and unique style has given him the opportunity to do many performances and workshops for Parkour all over the world on behalf of American Parkour and their Performance team The Tribe. He also is the first traceur(practitioner of Parkour) to start public classes in the San Antonio area through Primal Fitness, the first Parkour gym in the world!

One day, I received an e-mail from Jereme, and introduced me about Parkour. I was totally amazed his parkour training, like a ninja, like a?superman.? Jumping from the wall to wall, He is like a bird… climbing trees… like a Leopards. It’s totally the ARTS OF ACTION.

Jereme is a Tenugui Fan as well! He said that Tenugui is a perfect head cover during his parkour practice.
We are very pleased to be his Tenugui sponser from New Year 2011!?
