Monday, March 2nd, 2009Hina-matsuri is the girl’s festival on March 3rd in Japan, when the birth of girls is celebrated and wishes are expressed for their future happiness. These hina-ningyo (dolls) are mine and came all the way to New York. My aunt Yachiyo made them when I was born in Osaka, Japan. A couple of dolls have been traveling with me all over the world… wow,?they have?been away from Japan 25-years this year!
