Tenugui mumbling Vol.91 – Precious Life… on Earth Day

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

My sweet friend Emiko sent me this video the other day, because she knew I am a big fan of Dr. Andrew Weil. I would like to share this beautiful movie “Gaia Symphony” on Earth Day!

You may see Tenugui in many scenes in this short film, Takako Takano (Environment Educator) is wearing a tenugui as a head wrap, Greg Lemond (a former champion of road bicycle racer) is taking a dip?in the?Japanese hot spring, and people are covering their heads with white tenugui while attending Japanese ritual ceremonies….

I have started my new Tenugui project “I HEART JAPAN Tenugui Project” since last week to help support the survivors of Japan earthquake and Tsunami. It helps in supporting the survivors, by sending tenugui and care messages to them. I have received many messages from Tenugui fans. It has been a very precious moment for me to get a messages from the supporters, and write it down on a heart shaped card to the survivors. You can see all care messages that we have received on our site now.
And guess what?
You may find Dr. Weil’s message to the Japanese survivors on “Message from Around the World” at our site also!

Life is very precious, we never know what will happen tomorrow. Let’s be thankful for what we have now, and thankful for the life we have… We all live on this blue round earth together…

The old ragged tenugui will be perfect to use as a kitchen towel. It absorbs water very well and also will dry fast. You may use Tenugui as a pot holder as well.

And… this is my No.1 garden deco in this summer! Onsen Frog!!! “Onsen” means Hot Spring in Japanese. We have many hot springs all over in Japan. We used to use a Tenugui as a bath towel to dry our body after taking a bath. I still remember my grandparents were using Tenugui every morning and night.
You don’t need to take big western bath towel to go to Onsen, please take a tenugui, that’s all you need! You may be surprised that tenugui is big enough to wipe all of your body dry. Believe it or not?

A little accent for your summer with tenugui, may bring you a smile on your face. “Summer decoration” from? Julie’s Garden, hope you have some of your own ideas for your summer!
