Matsuri is a festival in Japanese. People wear Happi (robe) and tie a?Hachimaki (Tenugui headband)? on their heads, and carry Mikoshi (a small shrine) all around the city. These lively photos took by TETSU in Japan. We can feel Matsuri spirit from his photos.

Dear wuhao friends, guess what?
Japan Art Matsuri 2009 will be held this weekend in Greenpoint, Brooklyn! The 7th annual Japan Art Matsuri is presented by Faune Dance Troupe, many talented dancers, singers, Samurai performance, bands, and artists will be gathered together and showing their art of work there. Oh, our favorite Japanese Acoustic Punk Band UZUHI will be on stage also. Not only that, we will have MIKOSHI performance during stages, just like Japanese Matsuri!
And of course, we will join this year also as a tenugui artist booth.

Please come and join Japanese Art Matsuri with us! Looking forward to seeing you there!!!!!

Looking at Manhattan from New Jersey

Looking at Manhattan from New Jersey

I visited Mitsuwa Market, New Jersey?the other day. I’m asking myself?when was the last time I got out of Manhattan? It’s been a while, maybe more than 3-months ago? I think that Manhattan is a very strange place. Many people who live in Manhattan, they don’t get out of this tiny island often, because it has everything and every country here…

Santoka Ramen, ikura-don, nitamago and my favorite A-hum Tenugui

Santoka Ramen, ikura-don, nitamago and my favorite A-hum Tenugui

Mitsuwa Market is a HUGE Japanese market (more like a mall), and they have many Japanese restaurants in their food court. I had a ramen and Ikura-don (fish egg bowl), and nitama-do (Special boiled egg with soy flavor) in Santoka. I was reading Japanese newspaper NY Japion, and having my ramen lunch set… ummmm….
I forgot where am I a moment.

I always take my Tenugui when I go out. Tenugui is a very handy tool in many ways, especially having soupy noodles. You don’t have to worry about your mess, if you have a Tenugui! Don’t forget to take your tenugui, when you go to have a bowl of Ramen tonight!!!
