Today September 29th is Maneki Neko Day in Japan, the lucyest day of the year!!!!! 9 . 29 can be read as Ku-Ru-Fuku (Welcome Good Luck) in Japanese, 来福.

Also, September 29th, 2015 is the big day that the Heaven will forgive you all your sins, and bring you ten thousands of lucks to your life. Whatever you do good thing today, will come back to you ten thousands more!!!!

Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s day! It is a perfect time to tell mom how much appreciated to bringing us to this world.

A Fun Event is coming this weekend at the Brooklyn Kitchen! It’s a fantastic kitchen tool shop, but also they have a great event space. We’ll attend SUMO PARTY on 5/16 (Sat) from 4pm :-)

I am so excited to inform you that our special edition Komon Tenugui is available at the Philadelphia Museum of Art now!
Each tenugui was wrapped individually in hand cut paper Kimono and Obi with my Love of Tenugui, the package was specially designed for the new exhibition of Ink and Gold : Art of the Kano collection!

Please enjoy amazing exhibition and Kimono wrapping tenugui at the Philadelphia Museum of Art!
The exhibition will start tomorrow, until 5/10!

I am so excited for Welcome Year 2015, so I was celebrated New Year with my dear Kimono friends at Fabio Cucina in my special Kimono.

You may know which one is me? I am on right in yellow Kimono. My Kimono is my mother’s, and my obi (belt) is my grandma’s. And then, I love using Tenugui as a Kimono collar, can you see my yellow Kanoko tenugui around my kimono neck? Here you go, Three generation Kimono coordinate!

Wish you all the best of 2015, and let’s enjoy wonderful year and Tenugui with me this year also!

O-MIYAGE (お土産) is one of Japanese culture, means a gift. For greeting seasons, celebrations and anniversaries, promotion tool for new products, new shops, and  new restaurants, or even your self, Tenugui has been using as a Omiyage over centuries.

Now I am ready to attend special Tenugui event this coming Thursday (12/4), these tenugui are Omiyage Tenugui for the guests. 30-people only, will receive a free tenugui at the event.

“Enjoy Tenugui with the Five Senses” , new Tenugui Event is coming this Thursday!  This special event is a collaboration with wine importer and the restaurant Tokyo Tapas Café in West Village in New York.

I would like to introducing you Tenugui through The Five Senses. Let’s Sneak Peek, how we use our Five Senses, and enjoy Tenugui.

Sight:
Enjoy “The Five Elements” – tenugui installation and learn tenugui design, colors and history.

Hearing:
Try TENUGUI EXERCISE, simple stretch with a live piano performance.
Release tension, and relax your mind and body.

Touch:
Learn Tenugui gift wrapping, and also, discover many different ways of using tenugui.

Taste:
Experience Japanese low calorie potato called Konnyaku.
Enjoy five different Konnyaku tapas and a dessert.

Smell:
Enjoy amazing aroma with two different kinds of wine, that specially selected for the event,
and paired with Konnyaku Tapas.
