Tenugui mumbling Vol.88 – Happy Easter Tenugui mouse pad

Friday, April 1st, 2011

bunny tenugui as a mouse pad, and mameshibori as an arm rest, and a chick tape measure as a company

I spend most of my day on my computer 7-days a week, 365-days a year.?Did you know that Tenugui can be used as a mouse pad and an arm rest as well?

Here is my Easter theme mouth pad and an arm rest. My bunny tenugui is 9-years old, and mame-shibori (doted print) is 15-years old. Wow,? I realized now he (mame-shibori tenugui)?is very old!!!! Somehow I called my bunny tenugui as HER, and mame-shibori as HIM. strange? I purchased a chick tape measure in my favorite store Papar Presenation, in Chelsea recently. They are perfect together, and help my work!

Sometimes I’ll get tired even when working on?things that I’m devoted to… but Tenugui always?gives me nice warm cheers and comfort. Let’s have a cup of tea, and get back to my project!!!!!

And… I can’t wait to tell you about my new projetct to support Japan very very soon!!!!!!!

Sending love with Tenugui... Happy Holidays!!!

Sending love with Tenugui... Happy Holidays!!!

We have received many requests to carry Furoshiki from Tenugui fans. I hesitated a while… because, we are a Tenugui Special Online Store. Well… Why not?? “Customers are always right!”
So, here we go! We have started carrying Furoshiki now.

What is the difference between Tenugui and Furoshiki?
Tenugui is a 100% cotton rectangular cloth, and is used for wiping, wrapping, wearing, and many more ways. Tenugui width is between 34 to 38cm, and the length is between 90 to 120cm.
Furoshiki is a square cloth, made of many different materials, such as silk, cotton, hemp, rayon or polyester. Furoshiki can be used for wrapping and carrying items, but not for wiping and wearing like Tenugui.

Holiday gift season comes now. These are my gift ideas for Tenugui fans!
Christmas color mame-shibori just arrived, how about sending a forrest green and a berry red tenugui as a set like a photo? or you can make a heart with two tenugui also!

Do you know about “Mottainai”?
“Mottainai” means “Don’t Waste” in Japanese, it’s the way to describe conserving the environment.
3R (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle) + Respect = Mottainai, as stated by Wangari Maathai ph.D, Furoshiki and Tenugui can support your own way of Mottainai Campaign, saving the environment for our children’s future.

These are gift wrapping ideas with Tenugui and Furoshiki (Please check HOW TO USE at out site). You can save wrapping paper, tapes, wrapping tissues… and many more “one time use” wrapping items, and also your friends and families can use it after they’ve opened their gifts! Not only that, you can save much more money too!

Let’s start our own way of Mottainai Campaign for our world!

Happy Holidays, Tenugui Fans!!!!!

Tenugui mumbling Vol.78 – OHASHI Healing Scarf (Tenugui) Therapy

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

Do you have a mentor in your life?

Fortunately, I had a chance to interview Mr. Ohashi last month. He is one of my mentors. He always teaches me many stories, and gives me ideas from his experiences. I have many stories about Mr. Ohashi that I want to share with you… in the very near future!

Mr. Ohashi is the Founder of Ohashiatsu and the Ohashi Institute. He created, and has been developing his Healing Scarf (Tenugui) Therapy for more than 30 years. Tenugui can be used as a tool of shiatsu, and we have been supplying Ohashi Tenugui to their school over the years.

He gave me a lecture of Ohashi Healing Scarf (Tenugui) Therapy. You can check our clip for his Introductory Healing Tenugui methods. ?His Advance Scarf Therapy Seminar will be held in Europe on October, and in New York on November 13th at the Ohashi Institute (New York). I would like to take his seminar to learn more possibilities about using Tenugui!

Please check their web site (www.ohashi.com) for more about Mr. Ohashi and Ohashiatsu.

Thank you very much Ohashi-sensei, showing us your amazing Tenugui therapy.

Tenugui mumbling Vol.44 – Tenugui Magic Vol.02 Hyottoko Dance

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Tenugui can be used many different ways. Our “Hyottoko Tenugui” is a very unique one, it has two eye holes on it, so you may use it as a mask. It will be your great Halloween mask. We made a short movie of the “Hyottoko Dance”?for?you…

The Hyottoko Dance is a Japanese traditional dance dating back more than 900 years. It features a male dancer blowing fire from a bamboo tube, creating a funny faced, comical character called Hyottoko, which has been loved by the Japanese. It may also include a female character called “Okame”, and of course we have a “Okame Tenugui” on our site as well!
In the video, the dancer is wearing Hyottoko Tenugui and Tenugui Fundoshi (Japanese traditional underwear… coming soon at our site) in Central Park, hopefully brings you a laugh of magic from New York!

I always believe that Good foods, Daily Exercises, Many Laughes, and Love… bring healthy life to your day.
A laugh of magic, Happy Halloween, everybody!!!

The old ragged tenugui will be perfect to use as a kitchen towel. It absorbs water very well and also will dry fast. You may use Tenugui as a pot holder as well.

a cute garden accent - onsen (hot spring) frog

adorable garden accent - onsen (hot spring) frog

And… this is my No.1 garden deco in this summer! Onsen Frog!!! “Onsen” means Hot Spring in Japanese. We have many hot springs all over in Japan. We used to use a Tenugui as a bath towel to dry our body after taking a bath. I still remember my grandparents were using Tenugui every morning and night.
You don’t need to take big western bath towel to go to Onsen, please take a tenugui, that’s all you need! You may be surprised that tenugui is big enough to wipe all of your body dry. Believe it or not?

A little accent for your summer with tenugui, may bring you a smile on your face. “Summer decoration” from? Julie’s Garden, hope you have some of your own ideas for your summer!
